Florida Woman Fights With Cop at DMV

Deerfield Beach, FL – A Florida woman was recorded on video fighting a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper who eventually subdued her after a great deal of effort.

During a visit to the DMV in Deerfield Beach, the woman, a pharmacy tech, had a reported disagreement with DMV employees. After she would not leave the premises when asked, this resulted in an intense moment for one Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper as he tried to subdue the woman who resisted arrest and was even recorded kicking and attacking the officer.

Although Battery on a Police Officer in the State of Florida is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison, the woman, seen clearly attacking the officer on video, got out of jail within 24 hours after paying only a $100 bond.

Although FHP Troopers are commonly seen in DMV offices. it is rare to see a Trooper subdue an irate customer on video. In 2014, a shot was fired after an off-duty Trooper was attacked near the Tallahassee area and in 2012 a Trooper had to deploy a stun gun on a suspect whoa attacked the Trooper in Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to our email requesting further details.
